Jets® INSIGHT – bringing real-time visibility to retail vacuum systems

Supermarket and retail, Innovation

When JETS presented the IoT platform Jets® INSIGHT at EuroShop Exhibition in Düsseldorf in February 2026, it marked the culmination of development over the past few years. The solution provides real-time insight into operational data from retail vacuum systems and allows condensate installations to be monitored and managed remotely.

For four decades, our people have developed trusted and eco-efficient sanitation solutions used around the world. We believe technology can make a positive difference – and that dedication and competence are key to making it happen.

Developed through testing and practical experience

- The response at the exhibition was very positive, and many immediately saw how the solution could give them better visibility and control of their systems, says Anders Torsetnes, Sales & Business Director Retail at JETS.

- It was great to present the result of the work we’ve been doing on this over the past few years, says Jon Arne Ask, R&D Project Manager at JETS.

The development of Jets® INSIGHT has taken just a couple of years from initial concept to launch. During this period, the development team conducted customer research and mapped needs and challenges in the market. At the same time, they worked closely with service personnel and other parts of the organisation to develop a solution that works well for different user roles in practice.

- It started with a need in the market that we wanted to address. For us, it has been important to test the solution in real installations along the way. When systems operate in daily use, they must function reliably over time, says Ask.

The development of Jets® INSIGHT has involved several disciplines at JETS. Here, Jon Arne Ask discusses the platform with Rune Aarhus, graphic designer at JETS, who helped shape the platform’s visual elements.

JETS has more than 40 years of experience in vacuum technology and has delivered solutions to the retail segment since 2006. This experience has provided a solid foundation for developing a data platform that monitors the parameters most relevant for operation and troubleshooting.

The development of Jets® INSIGHT has involved a wide range of expertise within JETS, including a dedicated R&D team with specialised competence in areas such as IoT development. During the development process, the team also worked closely with UX designers to create and test early prototypes, allowing the solution to be refined based on practical experience and user feedback.

Through continuous testing and iteration, the solution gradually evolved into a platform that provides clear insight into system performance. At the same time, strong emphasis has been placed on developing an intuitive and modern user interface, making it easy for users both to monitor system status and perform remote control and service operations.

Faster overview of system status

For stores and other businesses using JETS vacuum solutions, operational stability is essential. When system status can be monitored digitally, it becomes easier to detect deviations and understand what is happening within the installation.

- When you gain access to system data in real time, it becomes much easier to understand the situation and carry out more precise troubleshooting, says Jørn Markus Jakobsen, R&D Developer IoT at JETS, who has played a key role in the development of the Jets® INSIGHT platform.

Remote access also allows service personnel to analyse the system without necessarily travelling to the site. In some cases, the cause of an alarm can be identified quickly and the situation clarified without a physical service visit.

Overview across locations

For chains and organisations with multiple installations, maintaining overview can be challenging. Jets® INSIGHT makes it possible to monitor system status across several locations simultaneously.

- Many of our customers operate multiple stores. Being able to see what is happening across locations and maintain a consolidated overview is therefore very useful, says Tove Souto, Sales Manager Retail at JETS.

Through the platform, users can also access alarm history, key performance indicators and operational data, providing a better basis for planning service activities and prioritising follow-up. At the same time, it offers greater understanding of how the systems are used in everyday operations.

Data as a foundation for further development

For JETS, the new platform also represents an opportunity to learn more about how systems perform in real-world operation.

Jets® INSIGHT has been developed to provide deeper insight into how our systems function in daily use. The platform collects information such as vacuum levels, temperatures and alarms, making this data available through a web-based interface.

- Customers wanted better visibility of their systems, but at the same time we saw that the data could also provide valuable insights for us as product developers. When we gain a better understanding of how systems are used in the field, it can also provide useful input for further development, explains Jacobsen.

Strong emphasis has been placed on data and operational security in the development of the solution. The platform has been developed in accordance with relevant data protection regulations, including GDPR and the EU Data Act, and is designed to ensure the secure handling of operational data from installations.

A milestone in the development process

The launch at EuroShop therefore marked an important milestone for the project.

- For us, this is about giving customers better tools for monitoring and managing their systems, says Torsetnes.

For the development team, the launch also marks the start of the next phase.

- In many ways, this is just the beginning. We have worked with vacuum technology for more than 40 years, and with digital tools we now have new opportunities to understand and further develop our systems, says Ask.
