Pipe care solutions
Vacuum systems need regular attention to stay efficient, hygienic, and operational. Every installation is unique and so is the build-up that can occur inside it. Whether it's scale, grease, or biofilm, proper cleaning and treatment helps ensure smooth performance, reduced wear, and longer equipment life.

Build-up is normal and preventable
The build-up of scale, grease, and microbiological material in vacuum pipes, tanks and system equipment depends on several factors.
- Water quality (mineral content, contaminants)
- Usage frequency and load
- Cleaning routines and chemicals used
- System type and installation
There's no one-size-fits-all solution. Identifying the challenges and the type of residue is the first step toward effective treatment.

What is mineral scaling?
Blackwater systems, especially those using vacuum technology, are particularly susceptible to mineral scaling.
This type of build-up occurs when dissolved minerals in the wastewater (such as calcium, magnesium, or iron) precipitate and form hard deposits inside the pipes. This can cause blockages, increased wear on pumps and components, and unnecessary downtime.
Each system has its own unique set of conditions. To prevent scaling and blockages, we recommend having a routine for cleaning and maintenance tailored to your installation. It is important to have the right products and program based on different conditions like water quality, usage and more.
Jets® Descale X

Jets® ECO Descale
Swan-marked descaler with small footprint, also when considering packaging and production methods.
Jets® Descale Gel
Environmentally friendly and efficient treatment designed for removal of different types of scale build-up.
Jets® Odour Control
Safe and ready-to-use solution for neutralising and removing odours from hard and soft surfaces.
Jets® Toilet Clean Plus

Jets® BIO Sanisolve
Acts both as a toilet cleaner and keeps pipe components free of organic residues.

Fat, grease, and biological build-up
Greywater systems have a different set of typical challenges.
Organic residue, primarily fats and grease from kitchens and showers. Over time, these form sticky layers that restrict flow and create odour.
These require specialized treatments and usually a different approach than blackwater systems.
Chemical cleaning vs. Biological cleaning
Chemical cleaning
- Fast-acting and powerful
- Effective for heavy deposits
- Can be harsh on materials
- Chemical cleaners work quickly but may wear down sensitive components and harm the environment.
Biological cleaning
- Slower but long-lasting
- Gentle and eco-friendly
- Supports long-term system health
- Biological cleaners use naturally occurring bacteria and enzymes to gradually break down residue. Ideal for ongoing maintenance.

Importance of right bacteria
Chemical-free sewage treatment plants depend on natural bacteria to break down waste, reduce odours, and keep systems flowing efficiently.
It is important to note that adding just any bacteria is not enough. The wrong strains can disrupt balance, reduce effectiveness, and cause odour issues.
A targeted microbial blend, tailored to your system’s needs, ensures efficient waste breakdown, shorter processing times, and minimal sludge. Our biological booster enhances chemical-free sewage treatment plants, helping them maintain peak performance. Even during start-ups or recovery from toxic shocks.

Manual and automated dosing
Biological treatments are especially sensitive to timing and dosage.
Too little, too rarely, or too late, and the effect may be lost. Our dosing units make it easy to apply the right product at the right time, whether manually or fully automated.
Adapters and configurations are available for different system types. Let us help you build a maintenance schedule that fits your needs.

Anti-freeze in cold climates
For installations in colder areas, system reliability depends on effective freeze protection.
Frost free installation is key to a safe and operational system. While our systems can handle low temperatures, frozen pipes will block flow and halt operation.
Piping and components can be protected through electrical heat cables or dosing products to prevent freezing.

Good system health means reliable performance
Clean, open pipes mean better flow, less wear, and less odour.
Maintenance is about more than just cleaning. It is about protecting the long-term health of your installation.
With over three decades of experience in vacuum sanitary systems around the world, JETS can help you choose the right solutions for your system's needs, usage, and environment.
